UPDATE

Well, the problems with my laptop continue but I've managed to salvage some data from it so the tours are back on and I have replied to all e mails.

I want to let you all know that I've added the "Mr Linky" feature to each tour post so you can now link your reviews. I would really appreciate it if you would link your past and present reviews of books you've read through the tour site :)

I'm also going to start chasing people who haven't contacted me lately as there are some books that haven't moved in a while. Don't forget that whilst I'm usually quite flexible, you are only supposed to have a maximum period of two weeks to read the book. I realise that now it's Christmas, the post will slow down a little and there will be some delays that are unavoidable so that will be kept in mind.

Can I also take this opportunity to remind people to take good care of the books that are in their posession please as well. And I'd like to ask people who have donated books to the tour site and would like them back at the end of the tour to contact me and remind me which books are theirs so I have a record.

That's it, thanks to everyone for making UK Book Tours a success and Merry Christmas!

DELAYS

As some of you are aware, my laptop has recently died and I'm currently in process of getting it fixed. This has significantly slowed down movement of the tours as all my data is in limbo. I'm pretty sure I can recover it, I'm just waiting for a copy of Windows 7 to arrive so I can do a fresh install. Also, do I need to even mention the weather? This will be the third day in a row the postman has failed to turn up. I don't blame him for the first two days but when someone delivering menus through your front door can turn up, I would expect Royal Mail posties to turn up too but apparently not. I hope they prove me wrong in the next couple of hours!

Anyway, so yes these are the reasons for any delays in replying to your e mails, giving you the contact details for the next person on the tour and receiving books. Please bear with me whilst it all gets sorted out. Thanks x

THE DEMON KISS Tour

Here it is guys, book two in the "Of Witches and Warlocks" series by Lacey Weatherford. So I still haven't read the first one yet but it's getting some great reviews from you guys! I can't wait to get started! Thanks to Susan/Emma for sending this one to be put on tour. If you haven't reaed the first one yet, you can still sign up for that. Although the tour has technically finished, I'd still let you borrow it ;) Just click on tours to find the link.

As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating. If you are new to this site, you need to e mail me with your address and the link to your blog. I have not got time to chase you!

I've decided to add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

THE CHRONICLES OF VLADIMIR TOD Tour

Thank you to Penguin for providing a copy of The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod by Heather Brewer. I've been hearing about this book for some time now and there are currently about 8 books in the series (in the US). It's coming to the UK and if you haven't heard of it, check out the Goodreads description here.

As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating. If you are new to this site, you need to e mail me with your address and the link to your blog. I have not got time to chase you!

POSESSIONS Tour

Thank you to Nancy Holder for donating a copy of her book Posessions to the tour site. Nancy is a prolific author who has an incredible back catalogue which includes the Wicked series and is the co-writer of Buffy and Smallville stories, as well as featuring in a lot of the paranormal anthology books. I have to admit that I know very little about Posessions other than the fact that it is a ghost story which sounds good to me! Check out the Goodreads description here.

As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating. If you are new to this site, you need to e mail me with your address and the link to your blog. I have not got time to chase you!

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

DELIRIUM Tour

Thanks to Hodder, I've got an ARC of Delirium by Lauren Oliver ready to go on tour. I've been waiting for this book for a long time now. After reading Before I Fall, Lauren Oliver is fast becoming one of my favourite authors and having read the first chapter of Delirium, I already love it. I get the feeling that this book is going to be very profound. The only reason I haven't finished reading it yet, is due to other reading commitments. If you haven't heard of the book, firstly where have you been?! And secondly, check out the Goodreads description here.

Also, I don't know whether you all know this but I chose the title for the sequel - PANDEMONIUM, which I'm very proud of. So, this book has special connotations attached to it for me now.

Thanks :)

THE MOCKINGBIRDS Tour

Thank you so much to Lenore for donating an ARC of The Mockingbirds by Daisy Whitney. Initially she was asking if any book bloggers wanted to read it, little did she know that I would share it with UK Book Tours so fellow UK book bloggers got a chance to read it. I'm not sure if the UK rights have been sold for this book but it was recently published in the US. If you're not familiar with The Mockingbirds, the book has been getting a lot of buzz stateside and you can check out the Goodreads description here. I've just read the first chapter and already I love it. So I have high hopes that it will live up to its expectations.

Thanks :)

ACROSS THE UNIVERSE Tour

OMG you guys, this is very special. Across the Universe by Beth Revis is a book I've been lusting after since I first heard about it, I mean c'mon, YA IN SPACE!!! I just finished reading it yesterday and I was absolutely blown away. You know when a book leaves you speechless and you need to regain some coherence before writing your review? That's what Across the Universe did to me and I love it when books have that effect. So, you wont see my review for a little while as I'll be posting it closer to release date in March, 2011. Yes, you read that right MARCH. If you sign up for this, can I ask that you don't post your reviews until close to release date otherwise they will probably get lost in the ether (so to speak).

If you haven't heard of this book, you are in for a treat. Check out the Goodreads description here and prepare for a fantastical adventure. If you're still not sure, let me tell you that I am pre-ordering the HB of this book because I love it so much. And the best news is - it's a series!!!! WOOT!!!!

As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

THE REPLACEMENT Tour

The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff is by all accounts a bit of a spooky read and Maggie Stiefvater thinks you should read it alone, after dark, whispering it outloud! I have to say that I LOVE the US cover but I think the UK have done all right with this one, after all we have a hot boy on the front. Although, someone pointed out to me the other day that he looks a bit like one of the guys from One Direction (X Factor) and you know what? He does a bit!

SO I haven't read this yet but it's on my TBR list and any recommendation from Maggie is good enough for me. If you're interested, check out the Goodreads description here. The UK edition is published in January, 2011. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

NIGHTSHADE Tour

Nightshade by Andrea Cremer is getting rave reviews around the globe and so I urge you to sign up for this one as it's not released in the UK until next year. I can't actually believe I haven't picked this one up yet but I think I needed a break from werewolves which is why I left the ARC on the shelf. I'm almost ready for a werewolf revival though so I hope to be reading it soon. If you haven't heard of it (seriously, where have you been?!) then you can check out the Goodreads description here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

BEAUTIFUL DARKNESS Tour

As promised, Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl (the sequel to Beautiful Creatures) is going in a tour. This has JUST been released in hardback but the UK paperback is not out until later this month. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

TOUR NOW CLOSED FOR SIGNUPS.

FINDING SKY Tour

Thank you to Oxford University Press (and Liz Scott) for providing a copy of Finding Sky by Joss Stirling. I thought this book was excellent and have reviewed it here if you're interested. What I like about this book is that whilst it still fits into the YA paranormal genre, there are no vampires, angels, werewolves, ghosts or aliens and I found that really refreshing. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

I AM NUMBER FOUR Tour

Thank you to Michelle for sending me I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore to go in a tour. I'm sure the majority of us will have heard of this book by now, especially as it's being made into a movie starring Alex Pettyfer. YUM. I'm definitely intrigued to read the book though and ideally, before the movie comes out. Just in case you're not sure what the story is all about, check out the GoodReads description here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

ENTANGLED Update

I know a lot of you have been getting ARC's of Entangled by Cat Clarke and some of you have even asked to come off the tour. Can I remind you though that you can write a personal message to Cat in the tour copy as the ARC is going back to her at the end.

With this in mind, please be sure you want to come off the tour and let me know.

Thanks

THE EMERALD TALISMAN Tour

This is my own copy of The Emerald Talisman by Brenda Pandos. I haven't actually read it yet (have you SEEN my TBR pile?!) but I've heard good things about it and obviously enough for me to have bought it. If you're not familiar with the book, check out the GoodReads description here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

AWAKENED Tour

A big thank you goes out to Ednah Walters who sent me a finished copy of her novel Awakened so that it could go in a tour. I'd not heard of Awakened before but hey it's got a hot boy with wings on the cover and that's all I need to know ;-). If you're interested, check out the GoodReads description here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

13 TO LIFE Tour

In case you missed the UK tour back in June when it released, and also in preparation for the sequel entitled Secrets and Shadows, I am putting my own copy of 13 To Life by Shannon Delany in a tour. I'm seriously hoping to get an ARC for Secrets and Shadows when it releases so keep your fingers crossed! Obviously, if I do then it will go on a tour. If you're not familiar with the book then check out the GoodReads description here or check out my review on my regular blog Narratively Speaking here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

ANGEL STAR Tour

In case you missed the UK tour when Angel Star by Jennifer Murgia was first released back in May, here is your chance to read it. I'm putting my own copy of Angel Star in a tour so you can read it before the sequel LEMNISCATE is released. I'm hoping to get an ARC of that, but that's not definite yet. If you're unfamiliar with the story, you can check out the GoodReads description here or my review on my regular blog Narratively Speaking here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

UPDATE

I wanted to let you all know that I've sent you all a little surprise (don't get too excited, it's only something small) but I thought you might like it.

Also, you may remember that Girl Parts went missing. You may also know that recently I have been putting together bookcases and getting my collection in order. Guess what I found in one of the boxes? Yep, Girl Parts *headdesk*. I honestly thought I'd sent it out so I will be doing that now. I'm about to put another couple of books on tour (which are my own copies but I wanted to share them with you). Hope you'll sign up if you're interested in reading. Don't forget to post your reviews anywhere you can think of including your blog, GoodReads, Amazon, The Book Depository, Barnes & Noble (US site) to get the word out there about the books you love.

The Raised By Wolves Tour is going good guns with only a couple of people left to read the book although the annotated ARC has some work to do to get round you all. Can I ask that you send it recorded delivery (so it doesn't get lost and it only costs a few pence more than first class post) and that you write your thoughts in there and send it off ASAP to the next person. Don't hang on to it for days as we're running out of time now. The book has to be back to me to present to Jennifer by 4th October. Am I having a panic attack about this? I may well be!

Anyway, I hope you're all happy with the tours and if you have any helpful suggestions or feedback, please let me know.

RADIANCE Tour

Radiance by Alyson Noel is the spin off series from her Immortals books (Evermore, Blue Moon, Shadowland, Dark Flame). I have an extra copy of this and so I thought I would put it in a tour for all you lovely bloggers to read. Check out the GoodReads description here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

PERSONAL DEMONS Tour

A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to Lisa Desrochers for giving me what was one of her last ARCs for Personal Demons. She knew how desperate I was to read it and how unlikely it was that I could since US publishers are reluctant to send books overseas for cost reasons and the UK rights have not yet been sold. Personally, I would encourage publishers to JUMP on this book and acquire it NOW! So yes, I've read it and no, I was not dissapointed. It was everything I could have hoped for and more. I'm about to write my review for it and I'm guessing it's going to be a major gushfest. This was a FANTASTIC debut from Lisa and hot as hell! I LOVED IT so much that I've just bought my own copy of it. So with that kind of recommendation, how can you NOT sign up for this?!

The cover art I've used is actually for the ARC as the final copy of the book has a different cover. I prefer the ARC cover though so that's what I've used and that's the book that is going on tour. If you haven't heard of this book, check out Lisa's blog or the GoodReads description here.

As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating. P.s. I'm Team Luc all the way baby.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

CRESCENDO Tour

OMG you guys!!!!! Thank you to the very awesome Emma at Asamum Booktopia we have an ARC of Crescendo, the sequel to Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. This is not released in the UK for another month! This is a book I've been desperate to read and I hope you are too. I'm not going to add a Goodreads description as there may be spoilers on there but if you've read Hush Hush, you'll want to sign up for this. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

ANGEL Tour

I'm guessing that most people have heard of Angel by L.A. Weatherly but I'm not sure if everyone has had a chance to read it so I'm putting it on a tour. I've still got to read this but I'm an angel girl so I know I'm going to enjoy it. I'm also really looking forward to meeting L.A. Weatherly on her UK tour next month!! If you haven't heard of this book or aren't sure what it's about, then check out the Goodreads description here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

UPDATE: RAISED BY WOLVES ARTWORK MY ARC Tour

Hi guys, I've got an update for you. I'm having to split the two ARCs up to make the tour go faster so I'm sending the ANNOTATED ARC (i.e. the one you can write in) to people who have already read the book first. I'm going to send the CLEAN ARC (i.e. the one you can't write in) to people who haven't read the book so they can make notes for when they DO get the annotated ARC. Hope that makes sense! I strongly feel that we should send the ANNOTATED ARC recorded delivery so that we can track it. I would be devastated if it got lost in the mail and we had nothing to present to Jennifer in October. Hope everyone agrees with this.

I now have confirmation that the Bloggers launch party for Raised by Wolves will be on 4th October from 5pm onwards and the invitations have gone out! I really hope that you guys can make it and of course I will be there and hopefully get to meet some of you!

Any questions, queries etc then please contact me.

RAISED BY WOLVES ARTWORK MY ARC Tour

OK, this is a very exciting tour and I'm about to tell you why. Thanks to Quercus Children's books I have been sent two ARC's of Raised by Wolves by Jennifer Lynn Barnes to go in a tour. This however is a tour with a difference so let me explain...

Each blogger will be given the opportunity to WRITE in the ARC. And I'm not just talking a message in the front, I'm talking about writing ANYTHING, ANYWHERE and in ANY format. It can be inside the book or you can attach post it notes and postcards. The notes can relate to specific lines in the book, any specific note to Jennifer or something about whatever you're feeling at the time when reading. It doesn't matter what it is. You can circle, underline things, comment in the margin, draw pictures, ANYTHING. Basically, there is no limit to what you can write. Obviously it has to be polite and respectful though, that goes without saying.

The idea is to send two ARC's - one for annotating and one to read incase the annotated one becomes too distracting to read. THEN...and this is the big news... the annotated ARC will be presented to Jennifer at a bloggers party when she comes over to the UK in October. AND YOU COULD BE THERE TO MEET HER!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOT! There is no confirmed date as of yet but I will keep you updated.

Quercus have requested that each blogger takes a photograph of the book before and after it leaves them so they can make a document about the book's journey. It will be showcased on the Quercus main blog and reviews will be linked.

So, what do you say guys? Are you in? I sure am! If you're not familiar with the book, check out the GoodReads description here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mailaddress if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

Just to be clear, if you have already read Raised by Wolves YOU CAN STILL SIGN UP to annotate the ARC.

TOUR NOW CLOSED FOR SIGNUPS.

CHANGELING Tour

Thank you to Macmillan for sending me the UK paperback of Changeling by Steve Feasey. This book was released as WERELING in the US. Interestingly, I think that the UK cover is more sci fi looking and would appeal more to boys whereas the US cover is more YA looking and would appeal more to girls. Marketing is a clever thing ;) I've had this on my TBR list for a while though so I'll be interested to read. I've not read a book written by a guy in a long time actually. Changeling is part of a three book series and the other two books will be put in tours when this one has ended.

Thanks :)

SHADOWLAND Tour

Thank you to Macmillan for sending me the UK paperback of Shadowland by Alyson Noel to put in a tour. This is the third book in The Immortals series. Do not sign up for this unless you have read both Evermore and Blue Moon. These books are also in tours currently which you can access by clicking here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

TOUR NOW CLOSED FOR SIGNUPS.

BLUE MOON Tour

Thank you to Macmillan for sending me a copy of the UK paperback of Blue Moon by Alyson Noel to put in a tour. This is the second book in The Immortals series and arguably just as good as the first in my opinion. If you haven't read this yet, make sure you read EVERMORE before you sign up to read this one. Evermore is also in a tour at the moment which you can access by clicking here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

EVERMORE Tour

Thank you to Macmillan for sending me a copy of the UK paperback of Evermore by Alyson Noel to put in a tour. I'm not sure if everyone has read this yet but I really enjoyed it! I read it before I started book blogging so really I should go back and review it. If you're not familiar with the book, check out the GoodReads description here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

If you're not familiar with the book, check out the GoodReads description here. The official UK release date is 19th August. INFINITE DAYS Tour

There's been a lot of buzz on the internet about Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel which is touted as a "refreshing king of vampire novel". That was enough for me and when I found out about the premise, I knew I really wanted to read the book. It's actually been released in the US now but the UK release is not until next month. Thanks to Macmillan publishing, I have a UK ARC ready to go on a tour!

Thanks :)

ENTANGLED Tour

I am EXTREMELY proud to announce an exclusive tour for Entangled, the debut novel by UK author Cat Clarke. I've known about this book for some time now and I'm so excited about getting the chance to be one of the first people to read it and to share it with everyone else. Here is the description from GoodReads:

" Grace meets enigmatic Ethan the night she's planning to kill herself. The next morning she wakes up in a strange room with a table, chair, pens and paper. There's nothing to do but write, and as she writes, Grace remembers the things she's tried so hard to forget.

The hazy memories lead Grace into a dark place where friendship, heartbreak and betrayal tangle together.."

Cat has very graciously donated an ARC for this tour although she makes one request. For everyone that reads it, please can you write something in the book (presumably at the front) so when the ARC goes back to Cat at the end of the tour, she can keep it as a memento from us all. I think that's a really sweet idea actually.

If you want to be part of the tour,
as always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

Let the tours commence

OK guys, I'm about to start packaging up books for the tours. I'm going to try not to send a lot of books to one person at the same time so the running order for the tours may change. I.E. if you signed up first for a particular tour, you may not actually be first to get the book especially if you are already receiving another book from a separate tour. Does that make sense?

I'm going to need you to e mail me your addresses at lynseynewton@gmail.com Obviously this is for my information only but of course I will have to pass your address on to the person sending you the book next. You will need to let me know when you have received the book and contact me for information about who to send it to next. Please remember to familiarise yourself with The Rules.

If you don't receive a book and you were first on the tour, please bear in mind that I may not have received the book yet as I'm still waiting for some to arrive.

Happy reading and I hope you'll all write reviews. I think I'm going to have a separate page where I can link your reviews. We'll see... Also, don't forget to look at the UPCOMING TOURS page as I'm working really hard to get some great books for future tours.

LINGER Tour

I know that Linger has now been released but for those who haven't got themselves a copy yet, I'm putting my Linger ARC in a tour. Linger is of course the sequel to the best selling and thoroughly awesome Shiver by one of my favourite authors, Maggie Stiefvater. If you haven't heard of this book, um where have you been?! You can check out the GoodReads description here or read my spoiler free review on Narratively Speaking here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

THE CINDERELLA SOCIETY Tour

A HUGE thank you goes out to Kay Cassidy for donating a copy of her book The Cinderella Society to the tour site. I'm pretty excited to read this one as it's a combination of YA and chick lit and it sounds fantastic! If you're not familiar with the book, you can check out the GoodReads description here or even read the first chapter to get a little taste of what the book is like here. I read the first chapter recently and it made me laugh out loud. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

THE CRESCENT Tour

The Crescent by my good friend Jordan Deen is an amazing book. Apart from the gorgeous cover art, the story is to die for and I just loved it. Check out my review on Narratively Speaking here. This is my own personal copy but I'm willing to send it on a tour as I want to share The Crescent love. I've just beta read the sequel Half Moon and it is just as good so look out for that in the future too. I want to add a note here that the editors did a very poor job and so there are spelling and grammatical errors. You need to look past that but for me, the story still shone through like a beacon of light. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.
