UPDATE

Well, the problems with my laptop continue but I've managed to salvage some data from it so the tours are back on and I have replied to all e mails.

I want to let you all know that I've added the "Mr Linky" feature to each tour post so you can now link your reviews. I would really appreciate it if you would link your past and present reviews of books you've read through the tour site :)

I'm also going to start chasing people who haven't contacted me lately as there are some books that haven't moved in a while. Don't forget that whilst I'm usually quite flexible, you are only supposed to have a maximum period of two weeks to read the book. I realise that now it's Christmas, the post will slow down a little and there will be some delays that are unavoidable so that will be kept in mind.

Can I also take this opportunity to remind people to take good care of the books that are in their posession please as well. And I'd like to ask people who have donated books to the tour site and would like them back at the end of the tour to contact me and remind me which books are theirs so I have a record.

That's it, thanks to everyone for making UK Book Tours a success and Merry Christmas!

DELAYS

As some of you are aware, my laptop has recently died and I'm currently in process of getting it fixed. This has significantly slowed down movement of the tours as all my data is in limbo. I'm pretty sure I can recover it, I'm just waiting for a copy of Windows 7 to arrive so I can do a fresh install. Also, do I need to even mention the weather? This will be the third day in a row the postman has failed to turn up. I don't blame him for the first two days but when someone delivering menus through your front door can turn up, I would expect Royal Mail posties to turn up too but apparently not. I hope they prove me wrong in the next couple of hours!

Anyway, so yes these are the reasons for any delays in replying to your e mails, giving you the contact details for the next person on the tour and receiving books. Please bear with me whilst it all gets sorted out. Thanks x

THE DEMON KISS Tour

Here it is guys, book two in the "Of Witches and Warlocks" series by Lacey Weatherford. So I still haven't read the first one yet but it's getting some great reviews from you guys! I can't wait to get started! Thanks to Susan/Emma for sending this one to be put on tour. If you haven't reaed the first one yet, you can still sign up for that. Although the tour has technically finished, I'd still let you borrow it ;) Just click on tours to find the link.

As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating. If you are new to this site, you need to e mail me with your address and the link to your blog. I have not got time to chase you!

I've decided to add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

THE CHRONICLES OF VLADIMIR TOD Tour

Thank you to Penguin for providing a copy of The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod by Heather Brewer. I've been hearing about this book for some time now and there are currently about 8 books in the series (in the US). It's coming to the UK and if you haven't heard of it, check out the Goodreads description here.

As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating. If you are new to this site, you need to e mail me with your address and the link to your blog. I have not got time to chase you!

POSESSIONS Tour

Thank you to Nancy Holder for donating a copy of her book Posessions to the tour site. Nancy is a prolific author who has an incredible back catalogue which includes the Wicked series and is the co-writer of Buffy and Smallville stories, as well as featuring in a lot of the paranormal anthology books. I have to admit that I know very little about Posessions other than the fact that it is a ghost story which sounds good to me! Check out the Goodreads description here.

DELIRIUM Tour

Thanks to Hodder, I've got an ARC of Delirium by Lauren Oliver ready to go on tour. I've been waiting for this book for a long time now. After reading Before I Fall, Lauren Oliver is fast becoming one of my favourite authors and having read the first chapter of Delirium, I already love it. I get the feeling that this book is going to be very profound. The only reason I haven't finished reading it yet, is due to other reading commitments. If you haven't heard of the book, firstly where have you been?! And secondly, check out the Goodreads description here.

Also, I don't know whether you all know this but I chose the title for the sequel - PANDEMONIUM, which I'm very proud of. So, this book has special connotations attached to it for me now.

THE MOCKINGBIRDS Tour

Thank you so much to Lenore for donating an ARC of The Mockingbirds by Daisy Whitney. Initially she was asking if any book bloggers wanted to read it, little did she know that I would share it with UK Book Tours so fellow UK book bloggers got a chance to read it. I'm not sure if the UK rights have been sold for this book but it was recently published in the US. If you're not familiar with The Mockingbirds, the book has been getting a lot of buzz stateside and you can check out the Goodreads description here. I've just read the first chapter and already I love it. So I have high hopes that it will live up to its expectations.

ACROSS THE UNIVERSE Tour

OMG you guys, this is very special. Across the Universe by Beth Revis is a book I've been lusting after since I first heard about it, I mean c'mon, YA IN SPACE!!! I just finished reading it yesterday and I was absolutely blown away. You know when a book leaves you speechless and you need to regain some coherence before writing your review? That's what Across the Universe did to me and I love it when books have that effect. So, you wont see my review for a little while as I'll be posting it closer to release date in March, 2011. Yes, you read that right MARCH. If you sign up for this, can I ask that you don't post your reviews until close to release date otherwise they will probably get lost in the ether (so to speak).

If you haven't heard of this book, you are in for a treat. Check out the Goodreads description here and prepare for a fantastical adventure. If you're still not sure, let me tell you that I am pre-ordering the HB of this book because I love it so much. And the best news is - it's a series!!!! WOOT!!!!

As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

THE REPLACEMENT Tour

The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff is by all accounts a bit of a spooky read and Maggie Stiefvater thinks you should read it alone, after dark, whispering it outloud! I have to say that I LOVE the US cover but I think the UK have done all right with this one, after all we have a hot boy on the front. Although, someone pointed out to me the other day that he looks a bit like one of the guys from One Direction (X Factor) and you know what? He does a bit!

SO I haven't read this yet but it's on my TBR list and any recommendation from Maggie is good enough for me. If you're interested, check out the Goodreads description here. The UK edition is published in January, 2011. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

NIGHTSHADE Tour

Nightshade by Andrea Cremer is getting rave reviews around the globe and so I urge you to sign up for this one as it's not released in the UK until next year. I can't actually believe I haven't picked this one up yet but I think I needed a break from werewolves which is why I left the ARC on the shelf. I'm almost ready for a werewolf revival though so I hope to be reading it soon. If you haven't heard of it (seriously, where have you been?!) then you can check out the Goodreads description here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

BEAUTIFUL DARKNESS Tour

As promised, Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl (the sequel to Beautiful Creatures) is going in a tour. This has JUST been released in hardback but the UK paperback is not out until later this month. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

TOUR NOW CLOSED FOR SIGNUPS.

FINDING SKY Tour

Thank you to Oxford University Press (and Liz Scott) for providing a copy of Finding Sky by Joss Stirling. I thought this book was excellent and have reviewed it here if you're interested. What I like about this book is that whilst it still fits into the YA paranormal genre, there are no vampires, angels, werewolves, ghosts or aliens and I found that really refreshing. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

I AM NUMBER FOUR Tour

Thank you to Michelle for sending me I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore to go in a tour. I'm sure the majority of us will have heard of this book by now, especially as it's being made into a movie starring Alex Pettyfer. YUM. I'm definitely intrigued to read the book though and ideally, before the movie comes out. Just in case you're not sure what the story is all about, check out the GoodReads description here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

ENTANGLED Update

I know a lot of you have been getting ARC's of Entangled by Cat Clarke and some of you have even asked to come off the tour. Can I remind you though that you can write a personal message to Cat in the tour copy as the ARC is going back to her at the end.

With this in mind, please be sure you want to come off the tour and let me know.

Thanks
Lynsey

THE EMERALD TALISMAN Tour

This is my own copy of The Emerald Talisman by Brenda Pandos. I haven't actually read it yet (have you SEEN my TBR pile?!) but I've heard good things about it and obviously enough for me to have bought it. If you're not familiar with the book, check out the GoodReads description here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

AWAKENED Tour

A big thank you goes out to Ednah Walters who sent me a finished copy of her novel Awakened so that it could go in a tour. I'd not heard of Awakened before but hey it's got a hot boy with wings on the cover and that's all I need to know ;-). If you're interested, check out the GoodReads description here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

13 TO LIFE Tour

In case you missed the UK tour back in June when it released, and also in preparation for the sequel entitled Secrets and Shadows, I am putting my own copy of 13 To Life by Shannon Delany in a tour. I'm seriously hoping to get an ARC for Secrets and Shadows when it releases so keep your fingers crossed! Obviously, if I do then it will go on a tour. If you're not familiar with the book then check out the GoodReads description here or check out my review on my regular blog Narratively Speaking here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

ANGEL STAR Tour

In case you missed the UK tour when Angel Star by Jennifer Murgia was first released back in May, here is your chance to read it. I'm putting my own copy of Angel Star in a tour so you can read it before the sequel LEMNISCATE is released. I'm hoping to get an ARC of that, but that's not definite yet. If you're unfamiliar with the story, you can check out the GoodReads description here or my review on my regular blog Narratively Speaking here. As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)

UPDATE

I wanted to let you all know that I've sent you all a little surprise (don't get too excited, it's only something small) but I thought you might like it.

Also, you may remember that Girl Parts went missing. You may also know that recently I have been putting together bookcases and getting my collection in order. Guess what I found in one of the boxes? Yep, Girl Parts *headdesk*. I honestly thought I'd sent it out so I will be doing that now. I'm about to put another couple of books on tour (which are my own copies but I wanted to share them with you). Hope you'll sign up if you're interested in reading. Don't forget to post your reviews anywhere you can think of including your blog, GoodReads, Amazon, The Book Depository, Barnes & Noble (US site) to get the word out there about the books you love.

The Raised By Wolves Tour is going good guns with only a couple of people left to read the book although the annotated ARC has some work to do to get round you all. Can I ask that you send it recorded delivery (so it doesn't get lost and it only costs a few pence more than first class post) and that you write your thoughts in there and send it off ASAP to the next person. Don't hang on to it for days as we're running out of time now. The book has to be back to me to present to Jennifer by 4th October. Am I having a panic attack about this? I may well be!

Anyway, I hope you're all happy with the tours and if you have any helpful suggestions or feedback, please let me know.

Lynsey

As always, just leave me a comment with your name and e mail address if you want to sign up for this. Also, don't forget to read the rules before participating.

I've added add a new feature so you can link your reviews to the site. When you've read and reviewed the book, please remember to come back and link your review. Thanks :)
